What a weekend...

I can't believe it is already Monday! What a great and accomplished weekend we had. Steven and I had Friday off because we had American Leveling come by to level our house. The drought was so bad that our back wall was separating and we had to get it fixed ASAP. At times I love owning a home, but when it comes to repairs that we can't do ourselves I get frustrated, nothing comes cheap when you have to have someone else do the job. I began to feel sick to my stomach when I found out that leveling can cost from 10K to 30K depending on how bad it is. Luckily for us, when we received our estimate my stomach was a little at ease. Our leveling cost was less than 3K. Not that we had that kind of money laying around, but it's a lot better than 10K-30K.

Anyways by Friday evening we decided we wanted to fix a few things around the house. We decided that we would re-grout our kitchen because we never sealed it the first time we did it, and with two dogs it can get a bit dirty. I know, I know, why didn't we seal it in the first place? Well we had planned on sealing it but we wanted to wait until we finished tiling/grout the pantry and that way we could seal everything at one time, Great idea, right?? Before we knew it time slipped away and we never got around to grouting the pantry which meant we never sealed the grout.

So while Steven got started on scraping up the old grout, I decided to paint our guest bedroom. I was only able to get one coat of paint done and would finish the rest on Saturday. By the way, if you're watching/listening to HGTV while doing your own project it keeps you motivated!? At least it did for us! he he :)

By early Saturday we had already started up on our projects. I did a second coat of paint on the guest bedroom and Steven got everything ready for re-grouting. Once I had finished painting I decided to help Steven grout the kitchen because it is a huge job and it would go a lot faster if we both did it together. By 10pm Saturday we still had more grouting to do, but I needed to shower and get ready for bed. I had an early Sunday of fitness class and I knew I would be exhausted if I didn't go to bed soon. It wasn't until 12am that we both got into bed. Grouting had to wait to be finished on Sunday!!

It's Sunday morning about 7am and I am running around like a mad man trying to get ready for Barre3 class. For those of you that don't know what Barre3 is, it's where ballet barre meets yoga and Pilates. Here is a link to check out for more information about Barre3 http://www.barre3.com/locations/13 . My best friend and I decided to join this class together to keep each other accountable on our fitness goals annnd it looked really exciting. I went and picked Jennifer up around 8am and we headed to class. The class was so awesome; everyone was super friendly and helpful. After the class was over I was a bit sad because I couldn't wait to do it again, but I was also very happy because my body was about to fall apart. ha ha sweat baby, sweat! After class I had breakfast with Jennifer and her family and then I went home to do my normal Sunday routine... You know laundry, grocery shopping, and cleaning the house. I like to have everything in order for the upcoming week and then I started it all over on the next Sunday.

I totally forget to mention that in-between our projects we also spray painted our fireplace cover from an ugly gold to black. I saw this idea on pinterest and couldn't wait to try it out on our fireplace. I will upload pictures later of the guest room, grouting, and the fireplace. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
